Deep groove ball bearings are available in single and dual-row versions. Since this type of bearing is extremely versatile and there are numerous different versions available, the deep groove ball bearing is one of the most commonly used bearing types overall. It can effectively be called the "all-rounder" of all the bearing types.
Single-row deep groove ball bearings with exceptionally low structural height are known as thin-section bearings.

Angular ball bearings are available in single and dual-row versions. They can mainly be recognised through opposing raceways on the inner and outer rings . Angular ball bearings are designed for bearings which have to withstand both high radial and high axial loading.
Individual angular ball bearings can be fitted as pairs if necessary: in tandem alignment (if the load-bearing capacity is not sufficient), in O or X alignment (for combined load acceptance).

Spindle bearings are basically single-row angular ball bearings. The decisive difference is that spindle bearings have enormously restricted tolerances and are available in a range of pretensioning classes. They are particularly suitable for bearings with the highest requirements on rotation speed and running precision. Depending on the level of axial loading, the contact angle can be selected variably (the higher the contact angle, the better axial loading can be accepted).
Just like single-row angular ball bearings, spindle bearings can also be installed in pairs: in tandem arrangement (if the load-bearing capacity is not sufficient), in O or X arrangement (for combined load acceptance).

Tensioning bearings, which are also known as Y-bearings, housing bearings or clampring bearings, are sealed-off deep groove ball bearings with crowned (or spherical) outer ring shell surfaces. Their internal construction is very similar to the deep groove ball bearing and they are mostly fitted in housings.
For rapid and simple installation, most tensioning bearings are fitted to the shaft using grub screws or an eccentric locking ring.

Self-aligning ball bearings are always fitted with two rows of balls which use a common raceway. This type of bearing is used if the bearing has to compensate for tilting or shaft deflection.

Four-point bearings can be allocated to the single-row angular ball bearing category. They can withstand both radial and axial forces. Please note that here the radial and axial forces acting on the bearing must be in a specific ratio to each other, since four-point bearings are fitted with a split inner ring (standard version QJ). Special four-point bearings with split outer rings (model Q) are also used in infrequent cases.
