Storage of oil-seal rings/shaft seals
generally 5 to 25 degrees Celsius, darkened storage area, 70% humidity, maximum 5-6 years for NBR shaft seals (BA, BASL, B1, B2, BAOF) and 9-10 years for FPM/FKM shaft seals (VIT). However, our shaft seals do not get old in storage because they are quickly sold. Ozone, for example such as created by laser printers, electric motors or certain lamps, is particularly damaging. If shaft seals are placed on PVC or metals, chemical processes can start up over time. It is better to store rubber articles in their original packaging and use them as quickly as possible. |
